Some of these machines have microprocessor control and fully closed loop proportional PLC driven shot ends, automatic ladling is also utilised. Our most recent acquisition is a Frech 450 tonne machine, this along with our other machines gives us a very wide scope for producing very small castings right up to 6kg shot weight, fitted with the latest technology including robot ladles.

We also employ the latest technology in our Frech fully automated cell. This includes auto spraying, fully integrated casting weighing ensuring the complete casting is removed prior to the closing loop, conveyer cooling and light guard presses. The complete cycle is monitored with real time shot control ensuring consistent quality castings time after time. The special properties of the zinc based alloy allows very close tolerances to be cast.

Gravity Die Casting employs cast iron moulds which allow aluminium and zinc castings to be produced more accurately and cheaply than with sand castings. Tooling costs of gravity die casting are a fraction of those needed for high pressure die castings. The rapid chilling gives excellent mechanical properties whilst non-turbulent filling ensures production of heat treatable gravity castings with minimal porosity.
